WELCOME SPRING!

In the Bible, Spring symbolizes a time of renewal and new beginnings. After a long winter, the ground is parched, hoping and waiting for the rainfall to quench its thirst.

Likewise, Spring is also a time for personal and spiritual growth. We relate to this when we are refreshed by the love and grace we receive from God.

THE BEGINNING OF SPRING IS A PERIOD OF RESTORED VITAL ENERGY

New life is bursting from every pore of Nature. Spring is a time when God’s presence and power are on display. And, what He does in the natural world He also does in the spiritual realm. Spring is a time of renewed awareness of the presence of the Lord — like veritable springtimes — which come both to the Church and to the individual soul. We should pray for such times and expect them to come. Any periods of depression and barrenness should be succeeded by a time of new life and new spiritual energy.

SPRINGTIME IS A PERIOD OF RESTORED BEAUTY

The beauty of the Lord is reflected upon the face of nature…a beauty that is as fresh and full as if there had never been such a burst of Spring before. It is so beautiful because of its boundless variety and the ways it is displayed.

Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. John 1:3 NIV

SPRINGTIME IS A RENEWAL OF JOY AND HOPE

The spring season is warmer, has more daylight hours; the warmer ground temperature welcomes seeds and promotes germination resulting in the emergence of new life…from blooming flowers, the leafing-out of the trees, the growing and greening of the grass and bushes.

Spring promotes a feeling of hope—knowing that the planting of seeds will produce a lush growth and an abundant harvest. Just having more daylight hours results in better attitudes and time to enjoy “God’s World” after working hours. It can be a time of personal and spiritual growth.

For sure, Spring is a time of beauty and new growth! Yet, showers still come in nature as well as life. God uses”rainy times” to help us grow in Him; and, although He does not promise us a trial or rain-free life, He does promise to be with us in the storms!

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.  Psalm 46:1 NLT
