WHY WOULD GOD WANT ME?

No one is perfect. Everyone has all kinds of problems. Few feel they have ability or special gifts. Many do not feel worthy in God’s sight.

Many say, “Why would God want me?”

In man’s judgment there are lots of reasons why God shouldn’t call or use any of us. But, when we hunger for, seek Him and love Him, His loving arms are waiting and open to receive and love us and to use us in spite of who we are, where we have been, or what we have done…no one is perfect!

And, did you know that…..

Moses stuttered.

David’s armor didn’t fit and he seemed too young.

John Mark deserted Paul.

Timothy had ulcers.

Hosea’s wife was a prostitute.

Amos’ only training was in the school of fig-tree pruning.

Jacob was a liar.

David had an affair.

Solomon was too rich.

Abraham was too old.

Peter was afraid of death.

Lazarus was dead.

John was self-righteous.

Naomi was a widow.

Paul was a persecutor of the church.

Moses was a murderer.

Jonah ran from God’s will.

Miriam was a gossip.

Gideon and Thomas both doubted.

Jeremiah was depressed and suicidal.

Elijah was burned out.

John the Baptist was a loudmouth.

Martha was a worry-wart.

Noah got drunk.

And, did you know that Moses had a short fuse along with Peter and Paul and lots of others?

But God doesn’t require a job interview for salvation. He’s our Heavenly Father. He doesn’t look at financial gain or loss. He’s not prejudiced or partial, not judging, grudging, sassy, or brassy, not deaf to our cry, not blind to our need. He knows who we are and what we are and loves us in spite of ourselves.

SATAN SAYS, “YOU’RE NOT WORTHY.” JESUS SAYS, SO WHAT? I AM.”

SATAN LOOKS BACK AND SEES OUR MISTAKES.

GOD LOOKS BACK AND SEES THE CROSS.

God doesn’t calculate how you have failed in the past. If you have repented, it’s been erased from your record.

But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. 1 John 1:9 NLT

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:15-16 ESV

He does not punish us for all our sins; he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve. For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west. Psalm 103:-10-12 NLT

He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding. Ephesians 1:7-8 NLT

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God… Romans 3:23 ESV
