HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD?

The Greatness of God is beyond the intellectual capacity of man to comprehend. Any attempt to define His greatness is an exercise in futility.

The distance between man and God is great. This is partly based on the greatness of God, but the distance is magnified even more by the lowliness of man. Knowledge of this great gulf is not meant to discourage man; it is meant to give man an idea of the greatness and holiness of God. (See Psalm 138:6)

How Great is our God, our Creator and Redeemer…and do we THINK about it ???

GOD’S ACCURACY MAY BE OBSERVED IN THE HATCHING OF EGGS:

The eggs of the potato bug hatch in 7 days;

those of the canary in 14 days;

those of the barnyard hen in 21 days.

The eggs of ducks and geese hatch in 28 days;

those of the mallard in 35 days.

The eggs of the parrot and the ostrich hatch in 42 days.

(Notice, they are all divisible by seven, the number of days in a week!)

GOD’S WISDOM IS SEEN IN THE MAKING OF AN ELEPHANT

The four legs of this great beast all bend forward in the same direction. No other quadruped is so made. God planned that this animal would have a huge body, too large to live on two legs. For this reason He gave it four fulcrums so that it can rise from the ground easily. The horse rises from the ground on its two front legs first. A cow rises from the ground with its two hind legs first. How wise the Lord is in all His works of creation!

GOD’S WISDOM IS REVEALED IN HIS ARRANGEMENT OF SECTIONS AND SEGMENTS, AS WELL AS IN THE NUMBER OF GRAINS

Each watermelon has an even number of stripes on the rind.

Each orange has an even number of segments.

Each ear of corn has an even number of rows.

Each stalk of wheat has an even number of grains.

Every bunch of bananas has on its lowest row an even number of bananas, and each row decreases by one, so that one row has an even number and the next row an odd number.

All grains are found in even numbers on the stalks, and the Lord specified thirty-fold, sixty-fold, and a hundred-fold—all even numbers.

The waves of the sea roll in on shore twenty-six to the minute in all kinds of weather.

God has caused the flowers to blossom at certain specified times during the day. Linnaeus, the great botanist, once said that if he had a conservatory containing the right kind of soil, moisture and temperature, he could tell the time of day or night by the flowers that were open and those that were closed!

The lives of each one of us are ordered by the Lord in a beautiful way for His glory—if you will only entrust Him with your life. If you try to regulate your own life, it will only be a mess and a failure. Only the One who made the brain and the heart can successfully guide them to a profitable end.

The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty power of his command. When he had cleansed us from our sins, he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven. Hebrews 1:3 NLT

God’s voice is glorious in the thunder. We can’t even imagine the greatness of his power. Job 37:5 NLT

O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up.You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.

You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord.

You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand!

 I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there.

If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me.

I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night—  but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day.  Darkness and light are the same to you.

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.

You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.

How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me! Psalm 139: 1-18 NLT
