God's Other Ways

CALLING GOD

Hello God, I called tonight to talk a little while.

I need a friend who'll listen to my anxiety and trial.

You see, I can't quite make it
 through a day just on my own.

I need your love to guide me, so I'll never feel alone.

I want to ask you please to keep my family safe and sound;

Come and fill their lives with confidence for whatever fate they're bound.

Give me faith, dear God, to face each hour throughout the day

And not to worry over things
 I can't change in any way.

I thank you God for being home and listening to my call;

For giving me such good advice when I stumble and fall.

Your number, God, is the only one
 that answers every time.

I never get a busy signal, never have to pay a dime.

So thank you, God, for listening to my troubles and my sorrow.

Good night, God, I love You, too, and I'll call again tomorrow!

God will always hear your prayers. Sometimes you may not think He has heard you; but, He will eventually give you one of three answers:

YES

NO

NOT YET

########

YES

Often, you will get a YES! That means God answered your prayer. He gave you what you asked for. But, when He does grant your request, it is because it was part of His Will for you.

NO

Other times, God will say NO! That means God is saying it is not best for you…it was not part of His Will. Often, He may have something else, even something better, in mind for you.

NOT YET

One other answer you may get is “not yet”. God may want for it to happen, but not at the time you think it should happen. Remember God’s time is always on-time. You might not think so, but God knows when “later down the road” is the best answer according to His Will.

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Philippians 4:6 NLT

The Lord is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him in truth. Psalm 145:18 NLT

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.”  1 John 5:14

(God delights in answering prayers that align with His will. But how do you know what God’s will is? The most reliable way to know is by reading His Word. As you seek God through Bible reading and prayer, you get to know His heart and gain wisdom and spiritual insight. This gives you a greater understanding of how to pray according to His will, and a greater chance of having your prayers answered.)

“The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” James 5:16

(What a beautiful affirmation James, the half-brother of Jesus, expresses in this short verse. When you wonder if your prayer will accomplish anything, remember—not only is prayer powerful, it is effective. You’re not wasting your time. Keep praying! God uses your prayers to accomplish His will.)

And lastly…

Never stop praying. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 NLT
