God's Other Ways

GOD'S CAKE

One afternoon a teenage daughter was telling her mother how everything was going wrong in her life. She was failing algebra, her boyfriend just broke up with her, and her best friend was moving away.

Meanwhile her mother had just finished baking a cake; she asked her daughter if she would like a snack. The daughter said, “Absolutely, Mom. I love the cakes you bake!”

“Here, have some cooking oil”, her mother offers.

“Yuck!”, answered her daughter.

“How about a couple of raw eggs?”

“Gross, Mom!”

“Would you like some flour then; or, maybe baking soda?”

“Mom, those are all yucky!”

The mother then replied, “Yes, all those things seem bad all by themselves; but, when they are put together in the right ways, they make a wonderfully delicious cake!

“God works the same way. Many times, we wonder why He would let us go through bad and difficult times. Yet, God knows that when He puts us through them, all in His order, they always work for good!  We just have to trust Him, and eventually, they will all come together to make something wonderful!”

There may be someone reading this, who is also going through a dark, cold, and lonely time with an ache in his/her soul. The person may be a Christian, for believers are not without problems, or that person may not yet know the Lord.

Whatever the case, and whatever the problem or situation that you may find yourself in, and no matter how dark it may seem, just know that “JESUS REALLY DOES LOVE YOU!”
